After Paris’ embarrassing defeat at the hand of Nice last weekend, their title hopes look to be in tatters as they currently sit three points behind the leaders who have a game in hand, on top of an extraordinary goal difference just to rub it into the faces of Paris Saint Germain. Nonetheless, Emery’s men must pick themselves up this weekend and cling onto any hope, and pride, as they host bottom of the table Bastia.
As the table stands, PSG have the chance to draw level with Monaco provisionally before the Champions League semi finalists travel to Nancy this evening. Paris meanwhile head back to the Parc Des Princes to host the Corsican side Bastia. The visitors are probably Ligue 1’s most hated club – and rightly so – after throwing objects at Lucas Moura in the reverse fixture and have since gone on to attack rival players.
“We’ll be at home against Bastia on Saturday, so we’ll be obliged to play with the utmost concentration and the highest intensity in order to offer our fans a great spectacle.”

The fixture looks favourable for Paris who need all three points if they stand any chance of winning back to back French titles yet again. Emery may well be looking over his shoulder for the rest of the season too as the in-form Nice chase Paris’ second spot and automatic entrance into the group stage of next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Angel Di Maria and Thiago Motta both sit out the first of their two game suspension after recklessly being shown red last weekend. Ben Arfa and Krychowiak look to be leaving in the summer and are both left out of the squad once again, alongside Layvin Kurzawa who is still suffering with injury.
